Ancient spells echo in windowless halls
Deathly serpents lurk in shadows
An aura of pervading gloom and malice
Still the silent watchers await

Harness the evil in the heart of man
With visions of eternal life
Premonitions of magnificence
Mere puppets on a string

The watchers stir, their silence broken
Black robed and dreadful to behold
The crawling thing within the circle
Utters a scream, a scream of anguish

For endless eons it has remained dormant
Awaiting the eternal winter
When all life is bowed in submission
And a new reign begins

This solitude is unending
I long for an end to this torment
But soon the throne atop the highest tower
Will crash into the deepest sea
